St. James Academy has gone a perfect 3-0 against Shawnee Heights recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Thunder will square off against the Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. St. James Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.

St. James Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took down Blue Valley West 39-24 on Friday. Given the Thunder's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Jaguars are ranked 30th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. James Academy relied on the efforts of Jake House, who rushed for 172 yards and a pair of scores, and John Hornback, who rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: St. James Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 302 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to St. James Academy's defense and their three sacks. In that department, Andy Devers was the leader with two.

Meanwhile, Shawnee Heights entered their tilt with Turner on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Golden Bears by a score of 29-16.

Shawnee Heights had a senior duo take command as Aiden Scott threw for 277 yards and two TDs on only 16 passes and David Wakes gained 104 total yards and two touchdowns. 86 of Scott's passing yards were hauled in by Dallas Owens.

The win got Shawnee Heights back to even at 4-4. As for St. James Academy, their record now sits at 7-1.

Everything came up roses for St. James Academy against Shawnee Heights in their previous matchup back in October of 2020, as the team secured a 48-0 victory. Do the Thunder have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Thunderbirds turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
