La Porte has gone a perfect 10-0 against Merrillville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Slicers will be playing at home against the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. La Porte will be strutting in after a victory while Merrillville will be coming in after a loss.
La Porte had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Michigan City on Tuesday. The Slicers blew past the Wolves 3-0. The Slicers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 9th (when they won 3-0).
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant La Porte was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-10, 25-14.

La Porte relied on the efforts of Shayla Sorg, who had 15 digs and five assists, and Lilly Buckley, who had seven assists. That's the most digs Sorg has posted over her last six matches.
La Porte was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. They are a perfect 5-0 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, Merrillville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Valparaiso.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Merrillville sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 22-25, 25-11, 24-26, 15-8.
Merrillville's loss dropped their record down to 8-17. As for La Porte, their win ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 14-14.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: La Porte has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.8 aces per game. However, it's not like Merrillville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
