You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Penasco's strategy against Jemez Valley on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Panthers blew the Warrior out of the water with a 70-15 final score. With the Panthers ahead 53-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Leading Penasco to victory were Kaileb Atencio and Angelo Zamora. Atencio dropped a double-double with 35 points and 11 steals, while Zamora shot 83% from the field to rack up 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Zamora has posted since back in December of 2024.

The win got Penasco back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Penasco will welcome Estancia at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jemez Valley, they will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against East Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
