Basketball Recap: Cochranton Extends Winning Streak to Four

Cochranton had won three straight games and Eve Pfeiffer did her part to make it four on Thursday. The Cochranton Cardinals simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Jamestown Muskies 76-32 thanks in part to Pfeiffer, who almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game.

Alaina Shorts was another key player, putting up six points along with five assists and three steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in assists.

Cochranton's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Jamestown, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Cochranton Cardinals challenge the Saegertown Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Jamestown, they will head out to challenge Maplewood at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Maplewood has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
