Softball Recap: Eldon's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Eldon came tearing into Monday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Battle Spartans. The game was the first time the Mustangs have beaten the Spartans on their field since October 5, 2015.

Giana Blankenship tossed a big game, not allowing a single hit and allowing only one earned run while striking out six over 6.1 innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Rylan Stark was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

Eldon's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Battle, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

As of now, neither Eldon nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
