Baseball Recap: Gordon Central Gets the Win

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Gordon Central nor Dade County made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Warriors came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 4-1. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Wolverines on Tuesday, they had to take a 8-6 loss.

Bentley Talley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jared Harper, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February.

Gordon Central's record now sits at 5-17. As for Dade County, they dropped their record down to 5-18 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gordon Central will welcome Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dade County, they will be playing at home against Fannin County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
