Marie Philip won the last time they faced American School for the Deaf, and Xavier DeLeon did his part to make sure it happened again. The Marie Philip Galloping Ghosts enjoyed a cozy 64-46 victory over the American School for the Deaf Tigers on Wednesday thanks in part to DeLeon, who went 14 of 22 on his way to 37 points, to go along with eight boards and six steals. The matchup was his sixth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Wentworth, who posted five points, to go along with five rebounds and four steals. Those four steals gave him a new career-high.

Despite the defeat, American School for the Deaf had strong showings from Winkester Maignan, who put up 16 points in addition to eight boards and five steals, and John M, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Basil Blackford, who had 13 points and three steals.

Marie Philip's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for American School for the Deaf, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Marie Philip didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-9 victory against New York School for the Deaf on the 6th. As for American School for the Deaf, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 32-19 win against Lexington School for the Deaf on the 6th.
