Baseball Recap: Willow Spring Comes Up Short

Willow Spring was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 13-9 to the Southwest Guilford Cowboys.

Nate Rice made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Gio Tafalla was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Willow Spring's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Southwest Guilford, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Willow Spring wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-3 victory against Riverside-Durham on the 3rd. As for Southwest Guilford, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-6 win against Millbrook on the 3rd.
