Basketball Game Preview: Millennium Falcons vs. Venture Academy Mustangs

The Millennium Falcons will head out to challenge the Venture Academy Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Millennium duked it out withTurlock Christian on Saturday. Millennium took down Turlock Christian 44-28.

Sarah Digiallonardo was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 17 boards. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Millennium's points. Gianna Negrete was another key player, putting up 14 points in addition to four steals and four blocks.

Millennium smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Venture Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Titans out 36-33.

Venture Academy has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Millennium, their record is now 10-7.

Millennium might still be hurting after the 65-41 defeat they got from Venture Academy in their previous matchup on January 4th. Can Millennium avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
