Volleyball Recap: Woodside Starts Season with Victory Against Western Branch

Woodside took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They blew past the Western Branch Bruins 3-0. The Wolverines were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Bruins, so the Wolverines were just returning the favor.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 25-17, 31-29, 32-30.

Western Branch's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Woodside and Western Branch will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Wolverines will square off against rival Kecoughtan at 5:00 p.m. on September 4. Meanwhile, Western Branch is set to challenge their familiar foe Nansemond River at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
