Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Menlo School couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 46-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marin Catholic Wildcats on Thursday. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Menlo School lost, don't look at Ruiqi Liu. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. Liu has been hot, having posted nine or more boards the last five times she's played. Ava Allen was another key player, putting up six points.

Menlo School's defeat dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Marin Catholic, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-11.

Menlo School does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marin Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Moreau Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
