Baseball Recap: Chamblee's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Chamblee came into Friday's match having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Lakeside Vikings 6-4. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Robbie Berkman looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Chamblee is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Chamblee saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Solomon, who scored a run while going 2-for-5. Leo Waasdorp was another, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Chamblee's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-9. As for Lakeside, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-3.

We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. Tri-Cities has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.8 runs per game on average), something Chamblee will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lakeside, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Shiloh at 5:00 p.m. Lakeside is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
