Football Recap: Chambers Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Chambers was the 41-28 winner over Ardrey Kell when they last played one another back in April of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars fell just short of the Knights by a score of 16-13 on Friday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even if they lost, Chambers' defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Allex Jenkins, Tj Burgess, and Seyion Bryant, who each picked up one sack apiece. Chambers got some further help from Jenkins: he picked up a sack, made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended one pass.

Ardrey Kell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jared Curtis led the charge by throwing for 178 yards and two touchdowns. A healthy portion of that aerial production (90 yards to be exact) went to Khylieb Rodriguez, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Chambers' loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Ardrey Kell, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chambers will take on Butler at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Cougars their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Ardrey Kell, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Palisades at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Pumas' defense has only allowed 11.4 points per game this season, so the Knights' offense will have their work cut out for them.
