Soccer Game Preview: Chico vs. Pleasant Grove

The Chico Panthers will face off against the Pleasant Grove Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Chico is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to eight goals back in December of 2024, they were much more limited against Rocklin on Thursday. They came up short against the Thunder, falling 8-0. The Panthers have struggled against the Thunder recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove entered their tilt with McClatchy on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Lions onto the board and left with a 3-0 win. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Lions are ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kylee Rocha and Adalynn Alley scored all three of Pleasant Grove's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Chico's loss dropped their record down to 5-2-2. As for Pleasant Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1-1.
