Basketball Recap: River Valley Takes Down Towanda in a Playoff Battle

River Valley had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Towanda Black Knights, posting a 74-30 victory. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 23 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

River Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenady Kitner, who went 8-for-20 en route to 22 points. That's the most points Kitner has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ava Persichetti, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 assists.

River Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive games.

River Valley's record now sits at 27-1. As for Towanda, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.

Coming up, River Valley will square off against Trinity on Tuesday. Trinity will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something River Valley surely won't give up without a fight. Towanda does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
