Baseball Recap: Technology Titans vs. Sonoma Academy Coyotes
Technology had lost five straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 8-10 to make it six. They came up short against the Sonoma Academy Coyotes, falling 14-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Coyotes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 back in March.
Technology saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Pablo Kim, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
As for Sonoma Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-3. Considering they have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
On Sonoma Academy's side, Madden Pelkey made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, Pelkey posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Atticus Resch was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Charlie Mutz, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Technology does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sonoma Academy, they will square off against St. Helena at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Saints' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Coyotes' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
