Basketball Game Preview: Linfield Christian Lions vs. Arrowhead Christian Eagles

The Linfield Christian Lions will head out to face off against the Arrowhead Christian Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Linfield Christian will be strutting in after a win while Arrowhead Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Linfield Christian is coming into the match on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight victories. They snuck past Woodcrest Christian with a 60-55 win on Tuesday.

Linfield Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalie Zaruka, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. Zaruka has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Charli Calas, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards.

Linfield Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 21 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Arrowhead Christian has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost to Loma Linda Academy at home by a 45-31 margin on Tuesday. The Eagles were down 40-19 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Linfield Christian's record is now 6-12. As for Arrowhead Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Linfield Christian came up short against Arrowhead Christian in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 64-60. Can Linfield Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
