Basketball Recap: Mei-Ling Perry Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Bishop's

La Jolla Country Day won the last time they faced Bishop and things went their way on Friday too. The La Jolla Country Day Torreys walked away with a 52-42 victory over the Bishop's Knights. Given the Torreys' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Knights are ranked 163rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

La Jolla Country Day's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mei-Ling Perry led the charge by putting up 19 points and six boards. Lucia Wright was another key player, earning six points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals.

La Jolla Country Day's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Bishop's, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-8.

La Jolla Country Day will challenge Cathedral Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cathedral Catholic will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something La Jolla Country Day surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bishop's, they will face off against Granite Hills at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
