Basketball Game Preview: Sumrall Bobcats vs. Richton Rebels + How To Watch

Two dominant guards in Ella Robertson and Rakhiya Moody are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Sumrall Bobcats will be playing at home against the Richton Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bobcats on Tuesday. The game between Sumrall and Presbyterian Christian didn't end well, with Sumrall falling 58-43.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Kynnedy Lumpkins, who shot 64% from the field to rack up 14 points. Talasha Harvey was another key player, putting up seven points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, Richton put another one in the bag last Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 47-42 W against Presbyterian Christian. The score was all tied up 19-19 at the break, but the Rebels were the better team in the second half.

Richton's win came from a few key players Sumrall will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nylah Robins, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caedence Amos-Smith, who earned seven points.

Sumrall's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Richton, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Sumrall has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Richton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 44.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
