Baseball Recap: Treutlen's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

If Treutlen was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Montgomery County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Treutlen Vikings fell 11-8 to the Jenkins Warriors on Wednesday. The Vikings' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Kylan Page and Peyton Miller did some serious damage despite the final result: Page scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Miller scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs Miller has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Acie Dickens, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Treutlen's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Jenkins, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Treutlen will welcome Montgomery County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Treutlen is facing Montgomery County at the right time seeing as Montgomery County is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Jenkins, they will host Johnson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jenkins knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Johnson likes a good challenge.
