Football Recap: Albuquerque Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Albuquerque Academy played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 50-21 loss at the hands of the St. Michael's Horsemen. If the Chargers were looking for revenge after losing 48-7 to the Horsemen when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Albuquerque Academy lost, don't look at Logan Hague. Despite the final result, he picked up 171 receiving yards and one score. William Braun was another key player, having thrown for 319 yards and three touchdowns.

St. Michael's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Dominguez led the charge by rushing for 129 yards and four TDs on only seven carries, while also picking up 100 receiving yards. Those 129 rushing yards gave Dominguez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kamal Stith, who threw for 293 yards and four touchdowns.

This is the second loss in a row for Albuquerque Academy and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for St. Michael's, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Albuquerque Academy has already played their next match, a 35-20 loss against Chaparral on the 20th. As for St. Michael's, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 47-8 victory against Eunice on the 20th.
