Basketball Game Preview: California Lutheran C-Hawks vs. California School for the Deaf-Riverside Cubs

California Lutheran and California School for the Deaf-Riverside are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The California Lutheran C-Hawks will head out to challenge the California School for the Deaf-Riverside Cubs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. California School for the Deaf-Riverside took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on California Lutheran, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, California Lutheran turned things around against La Sierra Academy on Thursday. They walked away with a 26-19 victory over the Knights.

California Lutheran's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cailin Schroeder, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Schroeder has scored at least a third of California Lutheran's points. Redeemed Ebulu was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Meanwhile, California School for the Deaf-Riverside entered their game against United Christian Academy on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. California School for the Deaf-Riverside came up short against United Christian Academy, falling 72-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cubs have suffered since January 14th.

California Lutheran's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-11. As for California School for the Deaf-Riverside, their loss ended a 17-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 23-4.

California Lutheran was dealt a bruising 56-11 defeat at the hands of California School for the Deaf-Riverside in their previous meeting on Monday. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point California Lutheran was down 41-5.
