Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Saugus). They put the hurt on the Taft Toreadors with a sharp 12-0 win on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Centurions needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

Saugus is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those five contests. As for Taft, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7-1.

Saugus will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Golden Valley at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Taft, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Flintridge Prep on the 28th.
