Softball Recap: Hillsboro Has No Trouble Against Northwest

Hillsboro barely beat Northwest the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hawks put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 9-3 win on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Payton Bechaud was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Regan Uphoff was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hillsboro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 11.2.

Hillsboro now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Northwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

Coming up, Hillsboro will host Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Northwest, they will head out on the road to face off against Lafayette at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
