Softball Recap: Columbus Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Marion County, Columbus was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings 10-9.

Addi Hart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned (and two unearned) runs on 13 hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Columbus got a massive performance out of Grace Scott, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. Those four RBI gave Scott a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lexi Winchester, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

The victory got Columbus back to even at 1-1.

Columbus wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-2 defeat against Lamar County on the 7th. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, they will face off against Flint River Academy at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
