Basketball Recap: Lake Norman Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Lake Norman had won 14 straight home games dating back to last season and Josh Yates did his part to make it 15 on Tuesday. The Lake Norman Wildcats blew past the South Iredell Vikings, posting a 72-28 win thanks in part to Yates, who posted 20 points along with six assists and five rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023.

Trent Steinour was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to five boards and five blocks. He has been hot for a while, having posted two or more blocks the last 38 times he's played.

Lake Norman's victory bumped their record up to 22-1. As for South Iredell, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-19.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Norman will head out to face off against Mooresville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lake Norman's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for South Iredell, they will venture away from home to take on Cox Mill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cox Mill knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully South Iredell likes a good challenge.
