Basketball Recap: Elk Creek Comes Up Short

Elk Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a blow against the Princeton Eagles, falling 68-36. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-22 back in January.

Elk Creek's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaydence Reagan, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards. Reagan is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Cheryl Burrows, who posted nine points and four steals.

Elk Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Princeton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9.

Looking ahead, Elk Creek will square off against Paradise Adventist Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Elk Creek is facing Paradise Adventist Academy at the right time seeing as Paradise Adventist Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Princeton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
