Recap: Downey Knights vs. Enochs Eagles
The Downey Knights's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 39-32 victory over Enochs. For Downey, this counts as revenge for the 47-39 loss Enochs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Downey's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nathalia Soto led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 steals. Alexis Monroy was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Downey's win ended a nine-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-15. As for Enochs, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Downey will challenge Gregori at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gregori is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games. As for Enochs, they will head out on the road to take on Turlock at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Turlock will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
