Basketball Game Preview: Pitman Pride vs. Turlock Bulldogs

The Pitman Pride will take on the Turlock Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Turlock took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Pitman, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, Pitman was able to grind out a solid win over Downey, taking the game 39-27. The team accrued 29 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.

Pitman had a senior duo take command as Aiyana Hosep posted 15 points and Elexi Pulido earned nine points along with five boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave Hosep a new career-high in points. Marin Irasava also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Pitman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Turlock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They were beaten by Gregori 56-27. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1014th, while the Jaguars are ranked 381st).

Pitman's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-11. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points per game. As for Turlock, their loss dropped their record down to 2-18.

Pitman didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Turlock when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 39-35 victory.
