Football Recap: Forest Park Comes Up Short

After soaring to 34 points the game before, Forest Park was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They had to suffer through a 42-7 loss at the hands of the North Posey Vikings. The Rangers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.

North Posey found their leader in sophomore Bret Buecher, who rushed for 175 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Schickel, who threw for 156 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.

Forest Park now has a losing record of 3-4. As for North Posey, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Coming up, Forest Park will head out on the road to square off against Tell City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rangers will be up against the Marksmen's rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.86 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for North Posey, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Heritage Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots' defense has only allowed 10.7 points per game this season, so the Vikings' offense will have their work cut out for them.
