Last Thursday, Leroy Greene Academy had to suffer through a rough 60-16 loss at the hands of the Explorers. Leroy Greene Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-6.
In what's become a running theme this season, Fortune Early College gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They really took it to Westlake Charter for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-24 victory on the road. Fortune Early College pushed the score to 50-10 by the end of the third, a deficit the Explorers cut but never quite recovered from.
Fortune Early College's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alaziah "Lay" Akinmurele, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Akinmurele hasn't dropped below three steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Heaven Graves, who scored 13 points along with five assists and four steals.
Leroy Greene Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Fortune Early College, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Leroy Greene Academy took a serious blow against the Panthers in their previous meeting back in January, falling 79-12. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Leroy Greene Academy was down 53-8.
