Football Recap: Bell Griffins vs. Woodson Warriors
Bell had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 28-14 victory over the Woodson Warriors. This was payback for the Griffins, who suffered a 54-8 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jorden Carter, who rushed for 104 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries. Another signal caller making a difference was Will Hewitt, who threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bell was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 214 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 184 rushing yards in four consecutive games dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Woodson still got an impressive performance from Navell Harris, who rushed for 127 yards on only 11 carries, and also caught one score.

The Griffins will face off against Suitland at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (10 vs. 87). Meanwhile, Woodson (ranked 11th) will meet Utopian Academy for the Arts (ranked 461st) at 6:00 p.m. on the 6th.
