Football Recap: Bell Starts Season with Win on the Road + How To Watch

Bell had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They strolled past the Woodson Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 28-14. This was payback for the Griffins, who suffered a 54-8 loss the last time these two teams met.

Bell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jorden Carter led the charge by rushing for 104 yards and two TDs on only ten carries. The Griffins also got help from Elijah Miller, who showed off his sure hands for 85 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bell was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 214 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 184 rushing yards in four consecutive games dating back to last season.

Bell and Woodson should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps District of Columbia Rankings. The Griffins will face off against Suitland at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (10 vs. 84). Meanwhile, Woodson (ranked 11th) will meet Utopian Academy for the Arts (ranked 462nd) at 7:30 p.m. on September 6.
