Baseball Game Preview: Noxon Red Devils vs. Lincoln County Lions

Noxon hasn't had much luck against Lincoln County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Red Devils will welcome the Lions at 4:00 p.m.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Noxon's offense. They came up short against Stevensville on Tuesday, falling 9-0.

Noxon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Koskela, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base. Justice Kayser also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Lincoln County owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Ronan as they made off with a 9-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won six games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Lincoln County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Noxon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Noxon might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Lincoln County when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
