Recap: Mission Hills Grizzlies vs. Westview Wolverines
The Mission Hills Grizzlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 22 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Westview 71-37 at home. The victory was nothing new for Mission Hills as they're now sitting on three straight.
Mission Hills' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyara Walter, who scored 20 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Walter has scored at least 25% of Mission Hills' points. Another player making a difference was Maria Gorbushin, who scored 17 points.
Mission Hills has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Westview, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7.
Mission Hills will be playing in front of their home fans against Rancho Bernardo at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Rancho Bernardo will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Mission Hills is ranked 29th). As for Westview, they will head out on the road to face off against Poway at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Poway will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
