Softball Recap: Columbus Victorious

Columbus's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings, sneaking past 10-9.

Addi Hart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned (and two unearned) runs on 13 hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Grace Scott was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lexi Winchester, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

The victory got Columbus back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbus will challenge Lamar County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Flint River Academy at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
