Basketball Recap: West Catholic Victorious

West Catholic won the last time they faced Conwell-Egan Catholic, and Ciana Blake did her part to make sure it happened again. The West Catholic Burrs secured a 51-45 W over the Conwell-Egan Catholic Eagles on Thursday thanks in part to Blake, who posted 16 points and five steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lily Milewski, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Brianna Jackson, who went 6 for 12 en route to 13 points and four steals.

The win got West Catholic back to even at 10-10. As for Conwell-Egan Catholic, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.

West Catholic and Conwell-Egan Catholic could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. West Catholic (ranked 138th) will meet Cardinal O'Hara (ranked 19th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Conwell-Egan Catholic will take on Neumann-Goretti at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 174 places (177 vs. 3).
