Football Recap: Legacy Academy Falls Short of Eunice in the Playoffs + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Legacy Academy can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 62-18 loss at the hands of the Eunice Cardinals. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Silverbacks, who until this game were averaging 13.33 points allowed.

Despite the loss, Legacy Academy still got an impressive performance from Bryant Scales, who picked up 132 receiving yards and one TD.

Elijah Melancon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Eunice, rushing for 104 yards and four scores on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 254 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Melancon a new career-high.

Legacy Academy moved to 10-2 with that loss, which also ended their nine-game winning streak. As for Eunice, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Legacy Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eunice, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 42-7 defeat against Texico on the 29th.
