Baseball Recap: St. Andrew's Lions vs. Memorial Day Matadors

St. Andrew was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 6-3 to the Memorial Day Matadors. St. Andrew's was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Memorial Day apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

St. Andrew's saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Kelley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

On Memorial Day's side, William Hawkins made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Hawkins was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with a stolen base and an RBI.

St. Andrew's defeat dropped their record down to 1-24. As for Memorial Day, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7.
