Bishop LeBlond is a perfect 5-0 against Kansas City East Christian Academy since October of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Despite the loss, Bishop LeBlond got top-tier performance from Cole Sigrist, who picked up 110 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Sigrist also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making three total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.
Even if they lost, Bishop LeBlond's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: David Aberer, Hawkins Ideker, and Landyn Woolery, who each picked up one sack apiece. Bishop LeBlond got some further help from Brody Kussman: he forced one fumble, made ten total tackles (1.0 for loss), and defended one pass.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 42 points the game before, Kansas City East Christian Academy was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 64-12 loss at the hands of Knox County. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-6.
Bishop LeBlond's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-4.
Everything came up roses for Bishop LeBlond against Kansas City East Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 64-24 victory. In that contest, the Eagles amassed a halftime lead of 58-16, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
