Basketball Recap: Mikyah Dixon Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Bethel

It was a proper cat-fight when Wood duked it out withBethel on Monday. The Wood Wildcats ended the year with a bang, routing the Bethel Jaguars 50-28. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 62-45 loss the last time these two teams met.

Wood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mikyah Dixon, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. What's more, Dixon also racked up six steals, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Amiyah Murry was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds.

Wood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

Wood has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. As for Bethel, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Wood will be playing in front of their home fans against River City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bethel, they will host Tamalpais at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Bethel is facing Tamalpais at the right time seeing as Tamalpais is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
