Volleyball Recap: New Bern's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

There's no place like home for New Bern, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. Everything went their way against the Wayne School of Engineering Titans on Friday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bears as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

While New Bern won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-23, 25-20.

Karvin Magwood paced New Bern's offense, picking up six kills. Magwood got some help from William Gay and his 15 assists. Joseph Yanuzzi controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

New Bern's record is now 2-5. As for Wayne School of Engineering, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. New Bern will face off against rival Riverside-Durham at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Wayne School of Engineering is set to take on their familiar foe Coastal Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
