Football Recap: Hillgrove Starts off Right with Win over Mountain View + How To Watch

Hillgrove gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They breezed past the Mountain View Bears to the tune of 46-7. The Hawks pushed the score to 46-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bears cut but never quite recovered from.

Hillgrove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ian Wilcox led the charge by rushing for 50 yards and a pair of touchdowns. That's the most rushing yards Wilcox has posted since back in September of 2024. Jaiden Moore was another key back, rushing for 65 yards and one TD on only nine carries.

Hillgrove will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on McIntosh at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th. As for Mountain View, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Lanier at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
