Baseball Recap: Pebblebrook Drops Season-High Score on Riverside Military Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pebblebrook). They never let the Riverside Military Academy Eagles get on the board and left with a 19-0 win on Friday. The Falcons have beaten the Eagles the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.

Sinsaire Walker was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Walker was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Pebblebrook: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, Damian (DJ) Phipps was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Pebblebrook is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Tyler Holmes was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Pebblebrook always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .955. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Pebblebrook's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Riverside Military Academy, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pebblebrook will venture away from home to square off against Osborne at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Pebblebrook's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Riverside Military Academy, they will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Lakeview Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Riverside Military Academy has given up an average of 19.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
