Baseball Recap: Spruce Mountain Comes Up Short

Spruce Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 15-2 to the Maranacook Black Bears. The Phoenix were not able to make up for their defeat to the Black Bears from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Spruce Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Maranacook, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Spruce Mountain will square off against Monmouth Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Maranacook, they will take on Dirigo at 4:00 p.m. on June 1.
