Recap: Ligonier Valley Rams vs. Deer Lakes Lancers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Westmont Hilltop, the Ligonier Valley Rams were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-43 victory over Deer Lakes. For Ligonier Valley, this counts as revenge for the 53-27 loss Deer Lakes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Ligonier Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Abby Springer out in front who almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, 14 rebounds, and ten steals. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Lindsey Gaskey was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight steals and six rebounds.
Ligonier Valley's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Deer Lakes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
Ligonier Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Apollo Ridge at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Apollo Ridge is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Deer Lakes, they will head out on the road to face off against Mt. Pleasant at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Pleasant presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Deer Lakes in Pennsylvania (Mt. Pleasant is ranked 215th, while Deer Lakes is ranked 535th).
