Basketball Recap: Riverbank Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Riverbank had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Summerville Bears 69-9. The Bruins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Riverbank was led to victory by Taylor Macias and Leilani Olanolan. Macias went 11 of 21 en route to 31 points along with five assists and three steals, while Olanolan almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine steals. Olanolan is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Isabel Fernandez, who posted seven points and three blocks.

Riverbank is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. As for Summerville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverbank will head out to face off against Linden at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Riverbank's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games. Summerville has already played their next contest (against Calaveras), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
