Softball Recap: New Hampton Takes a Loss

New Hampton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Charles City, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Chickasaws fell just short of the Comets by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Chickasaws have suffered since June 5th.

New Hampton has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Charles City, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Coming up, New Hampton will look to defend their home field on Monday against Waukon at 5:30 p.m. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.41 runs per game on average), something the Chickasaws will no doubt try to take advantage of. Charles City has already played their next contest (against Crestwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
