Basketball Game Preview: Poway Titans vs. Rancho Bernardo Broncos

The Poway Titans will square off against the Rancho Bernardo Broncos at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Poway has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 20.

Poway is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Mission Hills on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Poway was beaten by Mission Hills 104-34. The Titans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 70-16.

Meanwhile, Rancho Bernardo won against Fallbrook on Friday with 46 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Everything went Rancho Bernardo's way against Otay Ranch as Rancho Bernardo made off with a 46-22 win. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 21 points or more this season.

Rancho Bernardo's win came from a few key players Poway will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Keira Tokushige, who posted 18 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lindsay Biddle, who scored 12 points.

Poway's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Rancho Bernardo, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.
