Preview: Dos Palos Broncos vs. Mendota Aztecs
Dos Palos is 0-10 against Mendota since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Dos Palos Broncos will head out on the road to square off against the Mendota Aztecs at 5:30 p.m. Dos Palos is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
On Tuesday, Dos Palos didn't have too much trouble with Tranquillity at home as they won 34-19. The win was just what Dos Palos needed coming off of a 62-20 loss in their prior matchup.
Dos Palos found their leader in underclassman Hannah Slimp, who scored 19 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Slimp has scored at least a third of Dos Palos' points. Another player making a difference was Athena Correa, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Mendota unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 40-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coalinga.
Dos Palos' win ended a nine-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-15. As for Mendota, their loss dropped their record down to 18-6.
Dos Palos took a serious blow against Mendota when the teams last played on January 9th, falling 66-18. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Dos Palos was down 43-9.
